The ‘hallowed camp’ is a collection of photographs that I return to on occasion. In the words of the Eagles, these photographs ‘can check out any time … but (can) never leave’. Here is the fourth picture, this one by Ray-Jones.

There are several pictures that I could have chosen by Ray-Jones. He takes us back to a humanistic era of documentary photography that much of street photography today has unfortunately jettisoned. Willy Ronis and Elliott Erwitt also come to mind.
