Just a short post on darkroom note-taking …

Having your own darkroom makes printing a lot easier partly because the set-up procedure can be better standardised.

The first thing I am getting to know in depth is how my negatives translate into prints. Part of getting to know this is keeping detailed notes so that I can back-track and understand how I got to a print.

Simple and obvious stuff, I know – but there is a temptation to avoid the effort of doing this. But I think detailed note taking is beginning to pay off.

Below I illustrate a copy of the record that I keep for each print that I do.
